Club Monaco Holiday Windows

The holidays have come and gone but we still think these Club Monaco windows were fetching enough to talk about.

Keeping their chair rail from fall, they added just a few elements for holiday. With lights, a few vintage props, and wrapped boxes, this window has a nice homey feeling. As seen with other retailers this holiday, this is great example of to how make a holiday window successful with just a few simple additions.

For the love of Kraft at JCrew

How can such a basic paper be so elegant? See how in JCrew's most current store window. Kraft paper is woven with a bit of gold foil to create a grid-like backdrop. We've seen different versions of this concept in the past at Burberry with their lattice squares and at Club Monaco using kraft paper.
But this presentation just seems right to help highlight their fall collection - a simple idea executed so well!

A Room with a View at Club Monaco

Club Monaco's new fall windows are so wonderful. They created a room within in each window with the use of molding and chair rails, collection of vintage paintings, knick knacks and taxidermy. The effect is collegiate, old world and whimsical but in an elevated way.

We love how this makes you stop and notice and then go inside to see what else is there. Remember getting the customers into the store is half the battle and we think this window did it's job!

More Color Blocking with Club Monaco

Similar to Ann Taylor earlier this week, we spotted color blocking at Club Monaco.

The theme is understated but has a subtle impact, especially in person. For the back walls of their store windows they layered sheets of art paper in a range of neutrals with a pop of brown. It was a pleasing backdrop for their early fall looks shown on their stylish mannequins.
Let's see where this trend will show up next.

Simple but effective solutions at Club Monaco

Here's one of those "ah ha!" moments in window design. This month, Club Monaco landed on a striking yet appropriate back drop to this season pale pallet.
The Kraft paper 'curls' work to add texture and warmth to the cool, neutral styles of their fall collection and causes one to stop and take notice. Which is, as we say, exactly the point!
And this effective solution is all the more appealing when you think of the cost. Balancing budget and design is tricky but can be done with much success!

Club Monaco will open new concept in Westchester

Club Monaco, the always chic, understated retailer is launching a new store design. On September 25th, this women's only boutique will open in the Westchester Mall with a newly designed facade and a redesigned store experience. The colors, textures and combination of vintage and new fixtures looks yummy and makes me want to shop. Love the propping and VM!

Frame it!

More and more specialty retailers are using frames in their windows to display marketing images to help convey the 'lifestyle' behind their brand. We think this is a great way to tell a story to potential customers as it says more about the clothes than just a mannequin. The selection of the frames themselves says a lot about the brand too and we think these are two great examples for urban consumers. How do you want to frame your message?
