CDW Merchants goes 'bird watching at Global Shop 2011

Global Shop, the retail trade show, took place in Las Vegas at the end of March and we were there for our 6th year.
using a theme of birds and birdhouses, we highlighted a broad range of capabilities, including distressing techniques, temporary wooden flooring, custom painted wooden signs, rope props, hand assembly work, covered books, cut and sew to name a few.

Using the current trend of blending old with new, we combined materials that were new and shiny with those of a dull vintage nature all with an "urban rustic" style.

We enjoyed visiting with customers and meeting new people and hope to add YOU to our growing roster of top retailers.

Last dance of the Butterfly

I think we have exhausted the butterfly spotting but I have this last batch to share from Vegas and Shanghai. The Vegas stores are in the Cesare's Forum, which is a great mall with top retailers and a must visit if you find yourself on the strip. The Shanghai photos are from the "superbrand mall" which is one of the biggest malls, located near the Pearl Tower and filled with local, national and international brands. We have concluded that the butterfly was THE dominant motive this spring but seeing the various ways stores use it was fun and inspiring -as a backdrop banner in Shanghai, as paper "curtains" at Custo Barcelona, as a collage at our Global Shop booth, as 3-D prop and window clings in Vegas, as a vitrine enhancement at Tiffany's. We hope you enjoyed it too.

Sneak Peek

Have wanted to post for 3 days but had some technical difficulties. Here's a quick snap shot of where we have been - BETTER photos coming soon. We just returned from Global Shop in Las Vegas and used a butterfly theme in our booth display as a way to convey 'renew, re-use, re-purpose'. We also kept our colors to black and white as anyone who has attended a trade show knows it can be visually overwhelming. The black and white theme was a soothing respite from all the visual "noise". We want to show our clients ways they can extend the life of their props and stretch their visual merchandising budgets further with a few smart solutions. Will be back with more photos and details later.
