Their banners are enhanced with over sized whimsical paper flowers to highlight their marketing and we think it adds a festive dimension. These flowers look ornate and detailed and add the right touch to their windows!

A Wonderful Summer at Anthropologie
It's a dark day here in NYC - so we are looking back to a brighter time a couple months ago.. at Anthropologie - a brief look back to creative uses of used objects.Anthropolgie's windows vary from store to store, yet always follow a consistent theme and shared elements.
Here's a few interpretations showing wine corks for Earth Day, and hanging paper petals for summer. We love the creativity and craftsmanship and look forward to seeing the holiday windows - sure to dazzle us soon.

What's growing on 57th and 5th?
Floral vines were running through both Harry Winston and Van Cleef and Arpels recently on 57th Street.Harry Winston went with a monochromatic 3D white paper vine and flat art nouveau cut outs.
At Van Cleef, floral vines were growing inside and out with custom cut flowers in pink plexi and birch like branches that flowed dramatically.
At both stores, the effect was impactful and brought a terrific dimension to the windows. Will this trend take root?

Madewell is looking well!

Madewell's windows and interiors have caught our eye recently. From their use of vintage seed packets folded into paper flowers in their Soho store window to the carefully curated interiors, their brand is on it's way to becoming iconic. Madewell which was a uniform company started in 1937 and revitalized by Mickey Drexler of J. Crew, does a good job of adding authenticity through the careful use of antique props to tell their story.

Its all about the paper!
Free People hung paper vine garlands for a jungle like effect which adding a nice pop of color to their 5th Ave location.
Kate Spade, which we covered last week was filled with colorful paper lanterns in pinks, oranges and yellows along side the Indonesian inspired umbrellas.
Gap Kids filled their windows with paper fans and flowers in different shades of blue which was simple yet impactful.
And at Lucky Brand the trend continued with white lanterns against their 'Summer of Love' denim theme.
All of these windows with their paper props signal summer. Keep an eye out for where it will show up next.

Stark raving mad for paper!
Here's one we sadly missed - it seems David Stark teamed up with West Elm to create an installation, The Purely Paper Flower Shoppe, in one of their New York stores for only a few days last week. And I had to read about it on Shelterpop.com! (thanks to Laura Fenton and Patrick McMullan for the photos)
Love this whimsical wonderland all in paper - from newspapers to old book pages and beyond. Objects like plants, flowers, birdhouses and ferns are folded, collaged, layered and shredded - and those topiaryies are amazing!
Wish I had seen it in person but let's enjoy the photos anyway.
