Visual Merchandising is ALL in the details as seen here at Restoration Hardware. When a store that sells furniture and housewares uses props, they should do so with a clear sense of brand awareness and RH continues to excel in that realm.
It's obvious that a book case "shows" better with books in it, however, covering the books in a monochromatic fabric that is tea stained to appear aged, keeps the focus on the furniture and not the props.
This neutral and yet textural prop used throughout the store to highlight furniture and accessories is a great compliment to the palette of the store and a nice balance to the green of the topiaries.

2D become 3D at Gap
Here is a cute way to help marketing send an impactful message (insert black and white and red all over joke here)
Great cardboard cut outs - balloons, poodle and eiffle tower - really say Paris!
And this says children's whimsy which as you know...we love.

Club Monaco will open new concept in Westchester
Club Monaco, the always chic, understated retailer is launching a new store design. On September 25th, this women's only boutique will open in the Westchester Mall with a newly designed facade and a redesigned store experience. The colors, textures and combination of vintage and new fixtures looks yummy and makes me want to shop. Love the propping and VM!

Embroidered in Gold at Louis Vuitton
Look at these gold spools of "thread" at LV. It appears that they embroidered the walls with this cording and as it hangs off it points the way down to the stacks of gold metal spools. Not sure if it highlights a detail in the current product but overall it was impactful - seen here on Michigan Avenue in Chicago.
