Peek a Boo

LOVE simple ideas and this one is brilliant. A wall of paper, like a roll used for photo shoots covers the floor and back wall in white. Pulling the paper back, reveals bold stripes made of various colored tape.
Viola - simple magic!

Hair it is!

another great idea blending fashion, art and visual merchandising - and using hair pieces to do so! (look at the wall behind the mannequins, its covered in hair "falls" in various shades) - celebrating Extreme Beauty in Vogue - it's just a hair dramatic - no?

Razzle Dazzle!

we couldn't have said it better!
We like to say, "it's all in the details" and in this case, the details speak volumes.
When you want to highlight something small and potentially messy, like tights or hosiery, present it in something to keep it organized and catch consumer's attention, like these trays.
And nothing let's people take notice like a little bling. So think about all the "little" things when you want BIG results.

Bringing the outdoors in.

Here's a simple solution for a riser - using tree stumps. Its a great way to add some natural elements into your store environment and adds a nice bit of texture and color.

What other bits of nature have you seen indoors that add warmth to a store?

A tree grows at retail.

trees made of books and leaves of paper -innovative, geometric and fantastic! Bring on the sweater weather.

Small effort, Big impact

with a lovely mix of product and vintage props this window manages to create an aura of an eccentric writer's den and encourages one to stop and think about what lies within - like a good book you'll have to open the cover to find out.

All tied up in ribbons!

We can't stress enough how great it is to see consistency in a store's presentation! When a brand cares enough to tie there marketing, visual merchandising, product display and advertising all up together, we care enough to notice!

(even saw a marketing photo where the girl had a ribbon bow in her hair and the frame that was displaying the picture had a similar ribbon bow as a prop- now that is consistency!)

And it's nice to see signage hanging from ribbon, rather than clear fishing wire, especially when it ties into the product. Aerie definitely had it's eye on the details and this back to school install is all tied up!

Birds of a feather...

I came upon this surreal fantasy window recently and thought it looked like a funny dream. I like the wings and birds and black and white floor.

Does it "speak" to you?

When I saw this window, my best guess... a thematic set of travelling buskers on tour of the US with a Woodstock undertone.
Turns out - it's a new campaign by Levi's to get people to post 'words, stories and photos of today's America'

Framing a trend

This trend just won't quit! Seen over the past year - visual merchandisers using frames to enhance their visual message and add a 3D element to thier product display.
We get the picture.
